No. StockChat runs entirely on your machine with a local database. There is no server of ours holding your data. If you use the included AI, only the text of your question is routed through a metered proxy to the model provider — never your holdings, and never stored.
No — paid plans include AI, so it works out of the box. If you'd rather use your own provider (OpenAI-compatible, or a fully-local model like Ollama), you can point StockChat at it instead. Your choice.
StockChat fetches public market data on your machine and keeps a local database that updates itself daily and self-repairs around stock splits. Data comes from public endpoints and can change without notice; the app updates quickly when it does.
No — by design. StockChat is decision support: every plan ends in an exact order ticket (side, size, entry, stop, target) that you place at your own broker, with your own hands. The app never connects to your brokerage account. Direct broker execution is on the roadmap, and if it ships it will be opt-in and conservative.
A Windows PC — that's it. It's a single, self-contained app: prices, fundamentals and option chains are fetched on your machine from public endpoints, no brokerage connection required.
